De grot is vrij toegankelijk voor speleologen maar niet voor commercieel geleide tochten. De boveningang (Trou Souffleur) is op verzoek van de gemeente Rochefort afgesloten doormiddel van een luik dat van buitenaf met een spitsleutel nr 13 geopend kan worden, en van binnen met de hand geopend kan worden. Zorg ervoor dat het luik niet open blijft staan. Het onderste niveau van de grot staat na zware regenval regelmatig volledig onder water. Neem dus de nodige voorzorgmaatregelen vooraf: raadpleeg de weersvoorspelllingen en bekijk hoe hoog het water in de Lomme staat. Bij een debiet van 14 à 15 m3/s (gemeten in Rochefort zal de Lomme buiten zijn oevers treden.

Bij een bezoek aan de boveningang wordt verzocht de auto bij de benedeningang te parkeren. Ga links van de ingang via het pad naar boven, je passeert de afslag naar de tonneningang en boven op de heuvel aangekomen zie je een huis links van je. Loop iets verder en je ziet een pad naar rechts gaan. Een veertigtal meter verderop ligt de ingang van de Souffleur. Respecteer het regelement betreffende het luik en het parkeren, want het is in ieders belang om een goede relatie met de gemeente te behouden.

Entrée:

Cavité à accès limité. Pas de fermeture et/ou cadenas (mais accès souvent règlementé, pas de guidage sportif).L'entrée supérieure (Le trou Souffleur) est fermée pour raison de sécurité à la demande de l'Administration Communale de Rochefort. Venant de la grotte, la sortie ne nécessite aucun matériel; il suffit de manoeuvrer une poignée. Si l'on veut entrer, se munir d'un mousqueton comme poignée et de la clé de 13 pour manoeuvrer le mécanisme. Pas de cadenas. Prière de refermer la porte derrière soi. La réseau inférieure de la grotte sont sujets aux inondations. Des précautions doivent être prises: vérifier la météo, le niveau de la Lomme rivière à l'entrée. A un débit de 14 à 15 m3/s la Lomme débourdements ses banques à l'entrée du grotte. (Débit mesuré en Rochefort).

Access:

Access to this cave is permitted only for ordinary caving trips. It is not allowed to use the cave for commercially guided tours. The city of Rochefort owns this cave and it is in everyone’s interest to maintain good relationship with the city council, so please respect the following directions.

The council requires the top entrance (trou Souffleur) to be closed by a trap door. It is not locked, but can be opened from the outside using a size 13mm spanner, and opened and closed from the inside manually. Please, park cars at the main entrance and use the track left of the entrance. Follow the track uphill until you see a house on the left. Turn right on the track before you come to a road. Follow the path for another 40 metres or so. The entrance is on your right hand side. The lower series of the cave are prone to flooding. Care should be taken: check the weather forecast, the level of the river Lomme at the entrance and use the link on our blog to check out water levels. The cave floods at 14-15 m3/s as measured in Rochefort. (Jemelle: Lhomme).
